Chelsea centre-forward Fernando Torres expresses his excitement at the prospect of being managed by Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has claimed that every footballer would like the opportunity to play under Jose Mourinho.

It was confirmed yesterday evening that the Portuguese coach would leave his role with Real Madrid in early June, which in turn has resulted in numerous reports claiming that he is close to making a return to Stamford Bridge.

"The chance to work with Mourinho is something every player wants to do at least once in their lives," the London Evening Standard quotes Torres as saying.

"He has been at the club before, some of the players have worked with him and know what kind of manager he is. Obviously we are waiting for the news about the new manager. Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world and Chelsea are one of the best teams.

"Normally, everyone is linking Mourinho with Chelsea but we will see what happens. I think we have to be ready [for him to come]. I am really looking forward to next season. It's going to be very exciting."

Mourinho's first spell in charge of the Blues ended in 2007.
