John Terry admits that he is surprised how quickly he has made a return to the Chelsea squad after a knee injury.

Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted that he is shocked by how quickly he has recovered from a knee injury.

Initial reports had suggested that the 31-year-old could be out of action for around two months.

However, the skipper was deemed fit enough to be included in the squad for yesterday's 2-0 win over Birmingham City in the FA Cup.

"Once I had the operation, I was literally jogging about after two days, which was incredible," he told the club's official website. "It's down to getting over it mentally as well, that you've had an operation.

"Once you're clear of that, you can push yourself on.

"I said to the physios, the way things were here, I just wanted to push myself and be involved and try to get back as quickly as possible."

Terry originally sustained the complaint during a training session.
