Ramires has revealed that the English crowds are the biggest influence on his performances for Chelsea.

The Brazilian has become a major part of Chelsea's midfield since joining from Benfica in 2010.

Since the departure of Carlo Ancelotti, the 24-year-old has been given much more freedom in the hub of Chelsea's midfield. Current boss Andre Villas-Boas has even left out usual starter Frank Lampard rather than drop Ramires this season.

"With Ancelotti I had to keep in line. I couldn't run forward as much. Now I have the responsibility to score," said Ramires.

"What differentiates the English game is that home and away it's blow for blow with physical force counting a lot. All games are tough.

"It's great to go out on to the pitch with a big crowd all expectant. You want to put on a good show for them, a good performance, you want to play well. Personally it's a big motivation, hearing the crowd at home willing you on."

Ramires was part of the Chelsea side that drew 0-0 with Norwich on Saturday.
