Martin Olsson slams Neil Swarbrick over "clear penalty"

Norwich defender Martin Olsson slams referee Neil Swarbrick for failing to award him a "clear penalty" during Sunday's stalemate with Chelsea.

Norwich City defender Martin Olsson has criticised referee Neil Swarbrick for failing to award him a "clear penalty" during Sunday's stalemate with Chelsea.

Olsson went to ground following a challenge by Blues captain John Terry on 11 minutes at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, only for Swarbrick to dismiss mass appeals from the visitors.

Victory would have seen the Canaries move level on points with 17th-placed Sunderland in the race for Premier League survival, and the Sweden international feels that the result could have been different.

"I knew I got the touch first and then, as you can see, it is a clear penalty," he told Sky Sports News. "The referee didn't see but I knew I got that touch first and otherwise it would be a different story.

"What John did right there, it was a clear penalty and it could have given us three points as well."

Norwich will be relegated to the Championship if the Black Cats win their game in hand over West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night.
