Half-Time Report: Norwich City holding their own at Chelsea

Neither Chelsea nor Norwich City are able to find the net in the opening half of their Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

Neither Chelsea nor Norwich City were able to find the net in the opening half of this afternoon's Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.

After a cagey start to the match, Norwich felt that they should have been awarded a penalty when Martin Olsson was taken out by a combination of Ashley Cole and John Terry, but referee Neil Swarbrick didn't agree.

Robert Snodgrass then failed to connect with a cross at the back post as Norwich, trying to avoid defeat and virtual relegation, continued to pose a threat when they got the ball into the final third.

Terry almost opened the scoring for the Blues midway through the half when he headed Andre Schurrle's corner straight at John Ruddy.

It was Schurrle who came closest to breaking the deadlock in the opening half, collecting a pass from Nemanja Matic before side-footing against the far post with Ruddy beaten just after the half-hour mark.
