Jose Mourinho questions referee decisions

Jose Mourinho says that referee Martin Atkinson had a "fantastic performance" this afternoon, but questions a few key decisions that went against his side.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes that Arsenal were lucky to finish this afternoon's game with 11 men still on the pitch.

The Blues proved too strong for their London rivals at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, prevailing 2-0 to strengthen their hold on top spot in the Premier League table.

However, Mourinho felt aggrieved that Arsenal were not further punished due to the leniency of referee Martin Atkinson.

"It was a difficult game. They started better than us, but Eden gave us the penalty and the first goal and the game could have finished there if it had been a red card," the Portuguese told Sky Sports News.

"I think the referee has had a fantastic performance, but Arsenal could have finished with eight men, [Laurent] Koscielny could have a straight red, a double yellow for [Calum] Chambers in the first half and a red for Danny Welbeck."

Chelsea travel to face Crystal Palace following the two-week international break.
