Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic admits to fatigue in Manchester City draw

Chelsea were fatigued in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City, according to midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has admitted that he and his teammates felt fatigued during their 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.

Loic Remy gave Chelsea the lead before David Silva equalised on the stoke of half time in a result which keeps the gap between the pair at five points at the top of thePremier League table.

Matic told Sky Sports News that his side were tired after they played for 120 minutes against Liverpool in the Capital One Cup semi-finals on Tuesday.

He said: "Especially in the last 20 minutes of the game we felt a bit tired but I'm happy because everyone gave 100 per cent. It was difficult to run with the City players because they were more fresh than us.

"To be honest we expected three points from today but if you see all the game I think a draw is a good result for both teams.

"We had some chances, they had some chances and it is the same now - five points' difference. We are happy because of that and I hope we will continue."

Chelsea have a midweek off before they play Aston Villa next weekend.
