Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard believes that the festive period could be decisive as to where the Premier League title ends up this season.
The Blues currently lead the way in the top flight, although a strong run of form from Manchester City has seen the gap close to just three points in recent weeks.
However, Chelsea face a tough set of fixtures around Christmas and the New Year, with games against West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton to come.
Speaking to The Sun, Hazard said: "This is a crucial time of the season. It is not always decisive — but it could well be this year.
"If we can stay top until the end of the holidays then it will be all the better for us. Getting through the Christmas period without any mishaps would be good. There are no easy games and you can lose if you're not fully focused."
Hazard is a doubt for the Boxing Day meeting with West Ham after picking up an ankle injury last time out.
