Report: Liverpool finalising Fernando Torres deal

Brendan Rodgers is ready to make a move for Chelsea flop Fernando Torres in January, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly putting the finishing touches on a bid to re-sign former striker Fernando Torres from Chelsea.

The 30-year-old spent four goal-laden season at Anfield before joining the Blues for a then-British record transfer fee of around £50m in 2011.

However, Torres struggled to settle into his new surroundings, and currently finds himself on a two-year loan spell at Italian outfit AC Milan.

Having been repeatedly linked with the Spaniard in recent weeks, the Daily Star claims that Brendan Rodgers is now ready to make a move for the former Reds favourite as soon as the transfer window reopens for business next month.

It is rumoured that Liverpool will pay out £10m for Torres, who scored 82 goals in his 142 appearances for the club.
