Roberto Di Matteo: 'I didn't sign Marko Marin'

Interim manager Roberto Di Matteo admits that he had very little involvement in Chelsea's signing of Marko Marin.

Chelsea's interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has admitted that he had very little involvement in the club's signing of Germany international Marko Marin.

The Blues confirmed yesterday afternoon that they had reached an agreement with Marin and his club Werder Bremen over a summer transfer.

Despite admitting that it wasn't his decision to acquire the 23-year-old, Di Matteo believes that it will be a positive addition to the squad.

"I tend to give my recommendation but, ultimately, the club decides who they want to sign," said Di Matteo

"He's a very good player, technically very good, skilful. He will add some qualities to this team."

Marin is believed to have cost Chelsea around £6.5m.
