Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has revealed his excitement at the potential arrival of Victor Moses.
After having had four bids rejected by Wigan Athletic for the Nigerian winger, Chelsea finally agreed a reported £9m fee with the Latics on Thursday.
Moses is due to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms ahead of the transfer, which Di Matteo believes will give Chelsea more pace going forward.
"Roberto Martinez has done a wonderful job with this player since signing him. He's really developed him," he said.
"He had a very good season last year and hopefully we can progress his development. He can play on either wing and will give the team width. He has good dribbling ability, has pace and is powerful.
"We've tried very hard to get this player. We like him very much. He's young and hopefully he'll be the future of the club."
Moses, 21, scored six times in 39 appearances for Wigan last season.
