Chelsea boss Antonio Conte warns Alvaro Morata to improve his disciplinary issues after seeing the Spaniard narrowly avoid a red card against Swansea City.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that he will warn Alvaro Morata to clean up his act.

Morata appeared as a substitute in Saturday's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, yet the Spaniard still managed to pick up a yellow card, before angrily knocking the assistant referee's flag out of his hands.

A second yellow would have seen Morata miss Chelsea's FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea City on Saturday, as well as their vital Premier League match against top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

"Usually I like to speak with my players face to face especially if there is a situation that we need to improve," Conte told reporters.

"But for sure, this is a situation that we can improve with Alvaro. He knows very well if there is a mistake. In this case I think he could have avoided the yellow card."

Morata, who has scored 10 goals in 24 appearances this season, has found himself in and out of the starting lineup in recent weeks.
