Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro 'to take legal action against club'

Suspended Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro is allegedly planning to take legal action against the club if they fail to reinstate her.

Suspended Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro is reportedly planning to take legal action against the club if they refuse to reinstate her.

The physician has not worked for the Blues since entering the field of play to treat Eden Hazard, against the wishes of manager Jose Mourinho, on the opening day of the season.

Neither Carneiro nor club physio Jon Fearn have featured on the Chelsea bench since the 2-2 draw with Swansea City, during which the incident occurred.

Carneiro could issue legal proceedings against the Premier League champions unless a reinstatement offer is made, according to The Independent.

The report suggests that sexism will form a key part of her case against the club, as Carneiro alleges that Mourinho referred to her as "a secretary" in his post-match interview.

FIFA's medical committee is due to review the case on Friday.
