Chelsea defender Gary Cahill admits that the club should be in a higher position in the Premier League table.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has admitted that the club should be in a much better position than they are in the Premier League.

The Blues have thrown away leads during games against Reading and Southampton recently, which has seen them slip behind Tottenham Hotspur into fourth in the table.

Cahill told The Express: "There is massive pressure to win every game and if things don't go well you don't want to flick on the television, because you know what is coming.

"We have thrown away leads and it's been stop-start. If we hadn't wasted points against teams we should have beaten, we would be in a lot healthier position. But that has been our own doing."

Chelsea face West Ham United on Sunday.
