Interim head coach Bruno Saltor feels that better days are on the horizon for Chelsea despite their goalless draw with Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Bruno Saltor has insisted that better days are to come for Chelsea after an encouraging performance during their goalless draw with Liverpool.

The Blues went head to head with the Merseyside giants just two days after the sacking of Graham Potter, a consequence of the club dropping into the bottom half of the Premier League standings.

Bruno has been handed the reins on a temporary basis and he made the decision to make just two alterations from the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

The returns of Wesley Fofana and N'Golo Kante benefitted the West Londoners as they dominated for large periods against opponents who have also struggled for form of late.

However, Chelsea again squandered chances, while also seeing one goal disallowed for a marginal offside decision and another through Kai Havertz inadvertently putting the ball into the net with his arm.

As a result, Chelsea failed to score for the sixth time in 15 home fixtures in the top flight this season, equalling an unwanted record in the Premier League era.

Nevertheless, Bruno felt that Chelsea's performance warranted maximum points and has backed his players to regain their belief in front of goal.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Bruno said: "It's difficult to enjoy this type of experience because you're really focused on the game. I tried to help the players from the touchline as much as I could.

"After what happened on Sunday, yesterday we had a recovery session. I tried to spend time with the players and talk to them. I thought they gave everything. It's been hard, we are very close friends [with Graham Potter]. It's difficult to stand here without him but I'm trying my best.

"We created chances. We scored, offside. It will come to the boys because they deserve it. We left Liverpool without anything [up front]. They put their bodies on the line, I'm really happy with back three. We had players on Ramadan, some back from injury."

As a result of their third Premier League fixture without success in a row, Chelsea remain in 11th spot, five points adrift of seventh-placed Aston Villa.

Chelsea are next in action when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 8, before they turn their attentions to the Champions League where they play Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.
