Cesar Azpilicueta: 'Frank Lampard's return to Stamford Bridge will be strange'

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta reveals that it will be "weird" to see Frank Lampard return to Stamford Bridge in a different kit.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed that it will be strange to see Frank Lampard return to Stamford Bridge in different team colours.

The former England international returns to West London with Manchester City for the first time since completing his summer move to New York City FC.

However, Azpilicueta insists that the team is focused and will not let Lampard's return distract them.

"In the history of the club Lampard is a Chelsea legend and obviously it will be weird to see him playing in another shirt," the 25-year-old told Sky Sports News.

"He will get a reception of a legend at Stamford Bridge. But he's professional and when he's on the pitch he will try to win for his team.

"Games against City are always tough and very tight, and this is a big game in the league. We know we have to win every game, every week, at home and away, so it is important because we play against a big team."

Chelsea are five points clear of City at the top of the table going into the Saturday evening kickoff.
