Andre Villas-Boas says that Chelsea's imminent signing, Kevin de Bruyne, was not in his "immediate plans".

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that it wasn't his choice to target Genk winger Kevin de Bryune.

The 20-year-old is due to move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season while remaining on loan at Genk until the summer.

"You have to speak to the people from the club about that," The Mirror quotes Villas-Boas as saying. "It's club policy. It's not within my immediate projects.

"He's a player the club has scouted for some time. I'm a manager who respects club policy."

Meanwhile, the Blues are preparing to face Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup fourth round tomorrow.
