Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel confirms that defender Ben Chilwell suffered a partial tear of his ACL during Tuesday's Champions League fixture with Juventus.

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed that the ACL injury suffered by Ben Chilwell will be initially treated "conservatively".

Chilwell sustained the injury during Tuesday's Champions League clash with Juventus, with reports later indicating that the left wing-back faced a number of months on the sidelines.

At his pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester United fixture, Tuchel confirmed that the 24-year-old had suffered "a partial tear" of his ACL.

However, the Blues boss has suggested that the England international may return in six weeks if everything goes perfectly with his rehabilitation.

Tuchel told reporters: "He has a partial injury of his ACL. The decision is to treat it conservatively.

"The next six weeks will tell the story and if he will be available, hopefully, within six weeks or after the six week, or if he needs surgery after that."

Cesar Azpilicueta or Marcos Alonso will deputise for Chilwell for Sunday's contest at Stamford Bridge.
