Chelsea star Eden Hazard ruled out of West Bromwich Albion match

Guus Hiddink confirms that Eden Hazard will miss Wednesday's game against West Bromwich Albion as he continues to work his way back to fitness from a groin injury.

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has confirmed that Eden Hazard will play no part in Wednesday's Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion.

The Belgium international was absent for the Blues' 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday because of a groin injury.

Hiddink has previously stated that he will not rush Hazard back to action, and it seems as though this week's match is too soon for the playmaker.

However, Diego Costa and Loic Remy have been declared fit for the midweek game.

"Costa is okay - he got a knock but the day after the game he was keen to get back on the pitch," Hiddink told reporters. "Remy is joining the group. The last two days he practised with us.

"Hazard was on the pitch today with the physios but he is still not available. We want to have him fit. It's better a little bit late than too early."

Hazard has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the last few weeks, with Real Madrid and Manchester United thought to be interested.
