Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday night's EFL Cup fourth round trip to face Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea make the short trip to North London on Tuesday night as they take on rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

Frank Lampard's side hit Barnsley for six in the previous round but found themselves needing a stunning second-half comeback at the weekend to rescue a 3-3 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

The Blues have a quick opportunity to bounce back from that at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they face former manager Jose Mourinho, whose current side were in action just two days earlier.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's contest.

Edouard Mendy

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: September 29 (vs. Tottenham)

New signing Edouard Mendy was not quite ready to feature in the goalfest at The Hawthorns on Saturday but could be fast-tracked into the starting lineup for this match given Chelsea's defensive issues.

Billy Gilmour

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Billy Gilmour has been sidelined with a knee injury since the summer and is not expected back in contention for at least another month or so.

Hakim Ziyech

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 3 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Lampard revealed that Hakim Ziyech is expected to be in contention for his debut in the coming weeks, but this match may come just too soon for him after picking up an injury in pre-season.

Christian Pulisic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 3 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Christian Pulisic is also yet to make a competitive appearance this season and he too is expected to miss this game, although like Ziyech the American is not far away from being available.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea do not have any suspended players for this EFL Cup match.
