The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.
The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA, but have already been busy this summer.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.
Thursday morning's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:
Rennes captain confirms Edouard Mendy to Chelsea?
Rennes captain Damien Da Silva appears to have confirmed that the French club's goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is closing in on a move to Chelsea.
The 28-year-old has been strongly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent days and various reports have claimed that a deal is close to being completed.
Mendy, who has kept 36 clean sheets in 85 appearances for Rennes, could replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as the club's number one goalkeeper should he arrive at Frank Lampard's side.
"We are a little selfish, we don't want to lose Edouard Mendy. But it's part of football and the transfer market. He's a great goalkeeper who deserves what happens to him," Da Silva told Telefoot.
Chelsea are thought to have agreed a fee in the region of £20m with Rennes, who have already played twice in Ligue 1 this term and are due to take on Nimes this weekend.
The Blues, meanwhile, will start their 2020-21 Premier League campaign away to Brighton & Hove Albion on September 14.
Kai Havertz 'forfeited £9m bonus to seal Chelsea move'
Kai Havertz reportedly gave up his right to claim a £9m bonus when departing Bayer Leverkusen for Chelsea.
After drawn-out negotiations between the two clubs, Havertz finally completed the switch to Stamford Bridge last week.
However, according to Bild, the 21-year-old took it upon himself to ensure that there were no further delays with the big-money transfer.
The report claims that the playmaker held a clause in his Leverkusen contract which left him entitled to 10% of any transfer fee received by the Bundesliga outfit.
With the teams struggling to find common ground, it is suggested that Havertz opted to forfeit the sum which was owed to him, approximately £9m once potential add-ons are included.
The Germany international is expected to make his debut when Chelsea face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Monday night.
