New Chelsea boss Graham Potter has dropped Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly for Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Red Bull Salzburg.
During the summer transfer window, the Blues paid in excess of £100m to sign the two central defenders from Leicester City and Napoli respectively.
However, for his first game in charge, Potter has opted for a partnership of Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva in what appears to be a back four.
Marc Cucurella, who worked with Potter during their time at Brighton & Hove Albion, is restored on the left-hand side of the defence in place of Ben Chilwell.
Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic get the nod in midfield, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starts down the middle of the attack after making his debut last week.
Kai Havertz appears in line to be used from a wider position, with Christian Pulisic missing out on an immediate recall.
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga plays for the second game in succession with Edouard Mendy still sidelined with a knee injury.
