Former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas backs Spurs to progress into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but admits Chelsea face a "difficult" task.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has backed Mauricio Pochettino's side to progress into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Spurs fell two goals behind inside the opening 10 minutes of the first leg in Turin earlier this month, but fought back to score two crucial away goals and record a 2-2 draw.

Tottenham will welcome the Italian champions to Wembley for the second leg on March 7, and Villas-Boas is confident that they will seal their place in the last eight.

"For Tottenham I see them going through because of the control they have with the ball - it's difficult for Juventus, like they showed in Turin that they couldn't take the ball off Tottenham. So hopefully they can go through to the last eight," he told Sports Mole at the Laureus World Sport Awards.

Villas-Boas also spent a spell in charge of Chelsea during his time in England, but he believes that the Blues face a more difficult task to progress following a 1-1 home draw with Barcelona in their first leg.

"[It's a] difficult one for Chelsea but also they have history in 2012 when they went there to win," he added.

Villas-Boas also claimed that under-fire Chelsea manager Antonio Conte does not deserve to be sacked.
