Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has backed Fernando Torres to make an impact in tomorrow night's Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid.
The Blues have travelled to the Spanish capital without Samuel Eto'o due to a knee injury, with Torres expected to replace him in the side despite Mourinho's previous decision to name a team without a recognised striker in the away leg of their quarter-final with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Portuguese boss refused to confirm whether Torres would start against his former club, but did hint that he would feature and backed him to make an impact in the time he is given.
"I have no doubts that in the minutes that he's on the pitch tomorrow he's going to try to do everything for Chelsea," Mourinho told reporters.
Torres scored 91 goals in 243 matches during his time with Atletico, becoming a club icon before his move to Liverpool in 2007.
