Roberto Di Matteo admits that David Luiz could be absent for Chelsea's Champions League semi-final first-leg match against Barcelona on Wednesday.

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed that the Blues could be without defender David Luiz for their highly anticipated Champions League semi-final battle against Barcelona on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off during his side's 5-1 FA Cup semi-final win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

"We've picked up some niggly injuries, so it's a matter of assessing the team [today]," said Di Matteo. "David Luiz picked up a hamstring injury so we'll have to have a look at him but he looks to be doubtful.

"[John] Terry should be able to play again on Wednesday. The boys are looking quite fit at the moment. It's always a matter of seeing how they are after the games and assessing each individual player for the game."

There are also fears over the fitness of Gary Cahill, who suffered a knock during the closing stages of Chelsea's FA Cup victory.
