Ashley Cole has claimed that Chelsea are deserved winners of the Champions League, although he admitted: "We rode our luck."
Bayern Munich had 28 goal attempts, compared to the Blues' nine, in 120 minutes of football but the final score ended 1-1 and the Londoners were 4-3 victors in a penalty shootout.
"To be honest, I'm lost for words," Cole told Sky Sports News.
"I think we should have probably lost the game with the amount of chances they had but we said it after Napoli, if we beat them, we ride our luck, you need luck in this competition and we rode our luck today but we deserved it.
"With the players we've got here, we knew we had time and with Petr [Cech] making good saves like that, we always knew we were in it."
Cole had previously finished as a runner-up in two Champions League finals - with Arsenal against Barcelona and with Chelsea against Manchester United.
