Half-Time Report: Adrian cancels out Fernando Torres strike

Adrian gives Atletico Madrid an away goal after Fernando Torres put Chelsea ahead in their Champions League semi-final.

Adrian scored late in the first half of Atletico Madrid's semi-final second leg against Chelsea to leave the teams level at 1-1 at the break.

The visitors came close the opening the scoring just five minutes into the match when a Koke cross deceived Mark Schwarzer before clattering into the Chelsea crossbar, allowing the hosts to eventually clear for a corner.

Jose Mourinho's men tried to apply pressure down the other end straight away but a long ball forward from David Luiz was claimed by Thibaut Courtois before Fernando Torres could reach it.

Luiz was on the attack again later in the half striking the ball from the edge of the box, but his finish was a fraction wide.

Atletico had another chance shortly before the break when Gary Cahill fouled Diego Costa just outside the penalty area, but Koke's delivery was headed clear by John Terry.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 36th minute when Cesar Azpilicueta picked out Torres, who is making his 50th appearance in the competition this evening, with a low cross, before the Spaniard's shot was deflected beyond Courtois to score against his former club.

However, the La Liga leaders were able to claim what could be a vital away goal just before the break when Adrian turned the ball in from close range from a Juanfran cross to level the scores.
