Portuguese defender Jorge Teixeira makes Charlton Athletic move

Standard Liege defender Jorge Teixeira signs a contract until 2020 with Championship strugglers Charlton Athletic.

Charlton Athletic have secured the permanent services of Standard Liege defender Jorge Teixeira.

The 29-year-old, who made 16 Belgian Pro League starts for Standard this season, has agreed a contract at The Valley that runs until the summer of 2020.

The Lisbon-born centre-back has played for a host of clubs throughout his career, including Maccabi Haifa and FC Zurich.

Teixeira is the fourth player to sign on at Charlton this month following the arrivals of Roger Johnson, Diego Poyet and Rhys Williams.
