Patrick Bauer strikes to earn Charlton Athletic draw against Rotherham United

Patrick Bauer's second-half strikes earns Charlton Athletic a point against struggling Rotherham United.

Rotherham United are still searching for their first win of the season after Charlton Athletic came from behind to earn a point.

Charlton tried to impose themselves on proceedings in the early stages, with Johann Berg Gudmundsson's shot being saved by Lee Camp on his first appearance for Rotherham.

The ex-Bournemouth keeper was called into action again soon after as Gudmundsson turned provider for Jordan Cousins, but his effort was tipped away from danger.

Cousins again went close to breaking the deadlock when he latched on to Tony Watt's guided header before being thwarted by Camp.

Instead, it was the Millers who took the lead seven minutes before the break as Farrend Rawson scored his first goal for the club after slotting home Joe Newell's cross.

Charlton went in search of an equaliser after the restart, with Igor Vetokele, Gudmundsson and Cousins all going close for the Addicks.

However, they finally get back on level terms after Patrick Bauer's close-range shot from Simon Makienok's corner found a way past Camp.

Watt and Gudmundsson failed to convert late chances for the hosts to snatch three points as Rotherham picked up only their second draw of the season.
