Teenager Joe Gomez signs three-year deal with Charlton Athletic

Seventeen-year-old Joe Gomez signs a three-year contract with Champioship club Charlton Athletic.

Teenage defender Joe Gomez has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal with Championship side Charlton Athletic.

The 17-year-old made his senior debut earlier this season and has gone on to make five first-team appearances under Bob Peeters for the Addicks.

"It's nice that the young players here are being given a chance to play, that's obviously exciting for us and it was a big incentive to sign," Gomez, who is an England Under-19 international, told the club website.

Charlton also have the option to extend Gomez's deal by a further year until 2018 if they wish.
