Ten-man Celta Vigo have suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Villarreal in this afternoon's La Liga clash at the Estadio de Balaidos.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Moi Gomez prodded the ball home following some good work by Denis Cheryshev.

Less than a minute had elapsed when the 20-year-old doubled his personal haul and side's lead after picking up the ball and unleashing a powerful strike from distance.

The home side then halved the deficit towards the end of the first half when Nolito dispatched a pass to Joaquin Larrivey, who marauded into the area and duly fired home.

Things would get considerably more difficult for Celta after Andreu Fontas was sent off for a second yellow card in the 86th minute.

Indeed, the Yellow Submarines made their man advantage count with Mario Gaspar extending his side's lead in injury time.
