Cardiff give their play-off hopes a massive boost by beating Derby County 2-0.

Cardiff City have given their play-off hopes a big boost by beating Derby County 2-0 this evening.

The Bluebirds took the lead after 24 minutes when Kenny Miller's shot hit the post, rebounding to Joe Mason who made no mistake with his effort.

The home side's lead was doubled just after the hour mark, and it was done in spectacular fashion. Mark Hudson saw Frank Fielding off his line and fired his effort in from inside his own half.

The second goal seemed to kill the game off for the home side as they comfortably saw the game out.

The result means that Cardiff stay sixth in the Championship table, while Derby drop a place to 14th.
