Ole Gunnar Solskjaer targets 39 points for safety

Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer targets 39 points for his side as they look to retain their Premier League status.

Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that 39 points will be enough to keep his side in the Premier League.

The Bluebirds are currently 19th in the division on 21 points, and the Norwegian coach has laid down the points target to his side.

He told reporters: "We probably need another 17, maybe 18 points to be safe.

"It's so tight down there at the bottom and you never know, you might need less. We've got two games at home next and it's a good chance to get some points."

The Welsh side host Aston Villa on Tuesday evening.
