Heavy rain in the North-West of England leads to this evening's Football League fixtures at Bury and Accrington Stanley being postponed.

Heavy rain in the North-West of England has led to the postponement of two Football League fixtures this evening.

Bury's League One clash with Carlisle United was called off at around 6.30pm by referee Mark Brown because of a waterlogged pitch at Gigg Lane.

Accrington Stanley's League Two match with Rotherham United was then deemed a washout by Christopher Sarginson 10 minutes before kickoff at the Crown Ground.

New dates for both fixtures are expected to be announced later this month.
