Sean Dyche pleased despite Tottenham Hotspur loss

Sean Dyche insists that his Burnley side produced a "good performance" in their 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has said that his side produced a "good performance" against Tottenham Hotspur despite losing 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Ashley Barnes cancelled out Harry Kane's opener for Spurs before Erik Lamela sealed the points with a curled finish for his first Premier League goal.

After the game, Dyche told BBC Sport: "I'm not disappointed. This is a tough place to come, they have started to turn some decent results in. I thought we delivered a good performance, worked their keeper and affected their back four.

"I am disappointed with the decision for their first goal. It was a harsh handball to give the free-kick, then there was a player offside in the build-up? Was he interfering or was he not? If it was in the line of the goal, it would probably have been called offside.

"It was a fantastic goal for Barnes, he worked hard for the team. Danny Ings also got in behind a couple of times but unfortunately he didn't score a goal. There are lots of good signs, the players are improving."

The result leaves Burnley 18th in the table, only in the relegation zone on goal difference.
