Burnley have reportedly identified Braga boss Carlos Carvalhal as a potential managerial target.
Last week, the Clarets made the shock announcement that long-serving incumbent Sean Dyche had been removed from his position in the dugout.
As it stands, it is unclear whether Burnley officials will look to make a short or long-appointment given the club's current predicament in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, according to Football Insider, there are figures behind the scenes that are interested in handing Carvalhal a return to English football.
In different circumstances, the 56-year-old has previously held respectable periods at each of Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City, most notably at the former where he almost secured promotion to the top flight.
Carvalhal has since impressed at Braga, winning a total of 55 of his 100 games in charge and guiding the club to last season's Taca de Portugal.
