Championship leaders Leicester City are 1-0 up at half time against second-placed Burnley this afternoon thanks to a fine goal from David Nugent.
The top two had been evenly matched throughout the first 45 minutes but it is Leicester who look like extending their lead after producing a moment of quality towards the end of the half.
It was a disappointing start to the match for the hosts as they lost Sam Vokes to injury just eight minutes in, before Leicester began to push forward. Danny Drinkwater and Jamie Vardy both came close to testing the goalkeeper with half-chances before a big penalty shout was turned down for the away side.
Vardy wriggled free of his marker twice before being pulled back but referee Chris Foy awarded nothing.
Leicester took the lead shortly afterwards when Nugent collected Chris Wood's layoff, dropped his shoulder to beat a couple of defenders and then curled the ball past the goalkeeper for his 18th goal of the season.
Burnley responded well to going behind and had a couple of penalty appeals of their own turned down, but it remains 1-0 to Leicester at the break.
