Charlie Austin scores for the seventh consecutive match to put Burnley ahead in their first match without Eddie Howe.

Burnley take a one-goal advantage into the break against Blackpool thanks to a header from Charlie Austin.

The prolific striker netted after 19 minutes to extend his run of scoring in consecutive games to seven matches.

Austin met a delivery from Ross Wallace unmarked to give Terry Pashley's side the lead against Ian Holloway's promotion candidates.

An attacking Blackpool lineup struggled to get pacey duo Thomas Ince and Matt Phillips into the match for much of the opening half.

Wallace threatened to add his name to the scoresheet in the last action of the first half but aimed a low free kick wide of the near post.
