Steve Cotterill: 'Both sides tried to win'

Bristol City and MK Dons both 'tried to win the game' says Steve Cotterill, despite the top-of-the-table League One clash finishing goalless.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill insists that 'both sides tried to win the game' despite their clash with MK Dons finishing goalless.

The draw sees Bristol City stay top of League One, though the gap has been cut to a single point as a result of Swindon Town's 2-0 win over Barnsley, while MK Dons slip to third.

"I'm really satisfied with our performance. I always thought it would be tight," Cotterill told reporters at full time.

"It was a really good 0-0 and a good advert for League One football. I don't think either side looked to cancel each other out; we both tried to win the game."

Bristol City's season continues when they face Port Vale at Ashton Gate on Tuesday.
