Brighton renew interest in Nicolas Gonzalez?

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly showing interest in Stuttgart forward Nicolas Gonzalez, who they attempted to bring to the club last summer.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly renewed their interest in Stuttgart forward Nicolas Gonzalez, as the Seagulls prioritise signing an attacker.

The 23-year-old only managed to feature in 15 Bundesliga games for Pellegrino Matarazzo's side during an injury-hit season, but he did score six goals and register two assists in those appearances.

Brighton did hold talks to sign the Argentine forward last summer after he netted 15 goals in 29 games for the German club, but the Premier League club's offer of £10m was not accepted as Stuttgart value Gonzalez at £16m.

According to the Daily Mail, the Seagulls will return to the table in this transfer window with a revised offer, as Graham Potter aims to improve on his side's 40 goals in the just-completed season.

The Argentinian international signed a new contract at the Mercedes-Benz Arena which ties him to the club until 2024, but it is believed that the versatile attacker is keen on a move to the English South Coast.

Gonzalez arrived in Germany in 2018 and has gone on to score 23 goals and provide 10 assists in 79 appearances for Stuttgart.
