Guy Poyet admits that Cardiff frustrated his Brighton side after their tie.

Guy Poyet has said that Cardiff City frustrated his side after their 2-2 tie last night.

The Brighton & Hove Albion boss, who insists that his were the better team, twice fell behind at the Amex Stadium as the Welsh outfit almost escaped with all three points.

"We showed again that we never stop creating chances and never stop pushing forward to get the vital goal," he told the club's official website. "It would have been unfair if we did not get something from the game. We were the best team.

"We made all the effort tonight. We had to be patient because we were in control but they had so many players behind the ball. It made it frustrating for us. We had to start chasing the game in the end."

Cardiff remain one point behind Poyet's side in eighth place in the Championship.
