Bradford City expect early decision on Nahki Wells future

Bradford joint-chairman Mark Lawn says that the future of Nahki Wells will be decided during the early stages of the January transfer window.

Bradford City joint-chairman Mark Lawn has revealed that Nahki Wells's future with the club will be decided during the early stages of the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker has been linked with several Championship sides after scoring 15 goals in 21 appearances for the Bantams this season.

Lawn has confirmed that Bradford have already turned down a bid for the player.

"We want the market value for our leading goalscorer and as it stands we're negotiating with another club," he told Football365.com.

"Nahki Wells wants to go - that's what you have to get your head round. Whether we'll be using the money to strengthen this year or next year is down to Phil [Parkinson].

"What we won't be doing is wasting the money, if the right replacement is not available at the right price we won't be spending it."

Wells joined Bradford on a free transfer in 2011 after being released by Carlisle United.
