Preview: Bradford City vs. Tranmere Rovers - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Friday's League Two clash between Bradford City and Tranmere Rovers, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Two sides seeking to end their four-game winless run square off on Friday when Bradford City play host to Tranmere Rovers at the Bradford City Ticket Office.

The Super White Army will also be looking to complete a league double over the hosts after claiming a 2-1 win back in November's reverse fixture.

Bradford City continue to struggle for form in League Two as they played out an uneventful goalless draw with Northampton Town last Saturday.

Mark Hughes's side have now failed to taste victory in any of their last four outings, picking up two points from the 12 possible while managing just two wins from their last 11 games since February 12.

With 48 points from 41 games, the Bantams are currently 15th in the League Two standings, just three points above 20th-placed Colchester United given the closeness of the teams in the wrong end of the table.

Bradford City's underwhelming performance this season has been largely down to their struggles on home turf, where they have managed just four wins in 20 outings, with their most recent victory coming against Salford City on January 15.

Tranmere Rovers, on the other hand, failed to find their feet last time out when they were held to a 1-1 draw by a dogged Bristol Rovers side on home turf.

Following a drab first half, Scottish forward Kane Hemmings broke the deadlock in the 56th minute but Newcastle United loanee Elliot Anderson restored parity seven minutes later to force a share of the spoils.

The Super White Army have now failed to win any of their most recent four games, claiming three draws and losing once since picking up successive victories over Mansfield Town and Harrogate Town back in March.

With 65 points from 41 games, Tranmere Rovers are currently ninth in the league standings, but could rise as high as fifth place with all three points on Friday.

However, Micky Mellon's side have struggled to get going on the road in recent weeks, losing five and claiming two draws in seven consecutive away games since January's 1-0 victory at Crawley Town.

Team News

Bradford City will take to the pitch without the services of 26-year-old defender Levi Sutton, who is set to miss his fourth consecutive game through injury.

He is joined on the club's injury table by Tom Elliot after the 31-year-old forward came off injured 10 minutes into the 3-1 loss against Harrogate Town on February 22.

While Lee Angol made his return from an injury layoff against Northampton Town last weekend, Abo Eisa is still recuperating from an injury that has kept him out of action since last November.

Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers will be boosted by the return of Calum MacDonald and Kieron Morris, who are both available for selection after missing Saturday's game against Bristol Rovers through suspension.

On the injury front, the Super White Army will be without 21-year-old German Paul Glatzel, who came off injured in the game against Mansfield Town back in March.

Twenty-year-old forward Josh McPake is also out of contention for Tranmere Rovers having missed each of the last three games through injury.

Bradford City possible starting lineup:
Bass; Hendrie, Songo'o, O'Connor, Ridehalgh; Evans, Watt; Pereira, Walker, Gilliead; Cook

Tranmere Rovers possible starting lineup:
Murphy; Cogley, Knight-Percival, Clarke, Merrie; Foley, O'Connor, Warrington, Hawkes; Nevitt, Hemmings

We say: Bradford City 1-1 Tranmere Rovers

Friday's game sees two sides in need of a pick-me-up lock horns and we expect them to take the game to each other in search of all three points. They head into the game in similar form and we predict the spoils will be shared between the evenly-matched teams.
