Bournemouth's Eddie Howe "under no illusion" of "tough" Liverpool challenge

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe tells Sports Mole that the team are "under no illusions" of how "tough" it will be to take on Liverpool on Monday.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that he and his players are "under no illusion" of how "tough" the challenge will be to go head to head with Liverpool at Anfield on Monday night.

The Cherries have played just one Premier League game in their entire history, a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.

The South coast club will travel to Merseyside in just their second game of the season, and while Liverpool are still blending seven new signings into the team, Howe believes that his players will rise to the occasion.

During his pre-match press conference, Howe told Sports Mole: "I think when you play Liverpool in their first home game of the season, that's going to be a tough challenge for us. We're under no illusions on that.

"I think we have to look at it as a great occasion that our players rise to. I don't think you can try to predict how it will affect Liverpool, the fact they've bought new players in - just like we have. We're trying to integrate players into our team, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top."

Bournemouth faced Liverpool twice in 2014 in the FA Cup and League Cup, but they suffered defeat in both.
