Eddie Howe 'frustrated' with Bournemouth display against Derby County

Bournemouth didn't play at their best against Derby County tonight, according to their manager Eddie Howe.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that he is disappointed with his side's display during their 2-2 draw with Derby County tonight.

Matt Ritchie and Callum Wilson twice put Bournemouth ahead but Darren Bent's second-half strike earned the Rams a point, and Howe was left frustrated with his team's performance.

He told BBC Radio Solent: "I don't think we played anywhere near our normal level. I didn't think we were particularly good on the ball or off it. Saying that, to get a point against a very good side is a positive and we have to look to that. When you consider that we didn't play well but still created chances, there's a tinge of disappointment."

Bournemouth and Derby, who occupied the top two positions in the league prior to the game, have now fallen behind Middlesbrough in the race for promotion, but Howe insists that tonight's game has little bearing on where they will finish.

"I said before the game this wasn't going to be final for either team no matter what the score. There are so many twists and turns to come and we are not down at all," he added.

Bournemouth next face Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
