Bournemouth's Elliott Ward out for three months

Bournemouth's Elliott Ward will now be out of action for three months having undergone surgery on a knee problem.

Bournemouth defender Elliott Ward has been ruled out for three months after having surgery on a knee problem.

The 29-year-old has been out of action since the Easter Monday draw at Ipswich Town but should return in time for the start of next season.

"We are hopeful it's not too serious, but we are looking at about 12 weeks before he returns," Cherries boss Eddie Howe told the club website.

Ward has made 25 appearances for Bournemouth this season, helping the club to their highest-ever league finish.
