Kolo Toure suffering from malaria

Liverpool and Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure will miss his country's international friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina after contracting malaria.

The Ivory Coast's team doctor has announced that Kolo Toure will miss the side's friendly international against Bosnia and Herzegovina after contracting malaria.

The Elephants play Bosnia in St Louis this evening in preparation for the World Cup in Brazil next month.

Cyrille Dah told the Ivorian Football Federation's website: "He just needs rest and so he won't play against Bosnia but he will be OK to return to training next week."

The Liverpool defender has earned 107 caps for his country since making his debut in 2000.
