Half-Time Report: Borussia Dortmund turn around early deficit

Borussia Dortmund come from 1-0 down to lead 3-1 at half time against Hoffenheim.

Borussia Dortmund have turned around an early deficit to lead Hoffenheim 3-1 at the break in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday afternoon.

The away side took advantage of some dreadful early defending from the hosts, as Sebastian Rudy blocked a clearance from Sokratis Papastathopoulos before laying off Roberto Firmino for a fifth-minute lead.

Shortly after the opener Hoffenheim could have gone 2-0 ahead as Firmino found Kevin Volland, but the striker's shot was cleared off the line.

Both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Robert Lewandowski came close for the home side, before Volland struck narrowly wide, but Dortmund were finally level just before half an hour had gone.

Kevin Grosskreutz cut in onto his right foot before clipping a curled effort into the corner, and two minutes later his side were in front as Mkhitaryan headed in a Marco Reus cross.

Then in another two minutes Dortmund suddenly looked comfortable, with Lukasz Piszczek striking a half-volley into the top corner for a solid half-time lead.
