Bologna, Sampdoria share four-goal thriller

Panagiotis Kone and Manolo Gabbiadini both score fine goals as Bologna and Sampdoria split a 2-2 draw in Serie A.

Manolo Gabbiadini's equaliser 17 minutes from time has ensured that Bologna and Sampdoria must both settle for a point from an entertaining clash in Serie A this evening.

Neither side were able to take points from the opening league match last weekend but went on the offensive tonight in an open end-to-end start.

After 25 minutes Sampdoria profited from a goalkeeping error to break the deadlock, as Eder reacted quickest to turn home a rebound after Gianluca Curci had spilled Gabbiadini's speculative strike.

Five minutes before the break Bologna deservedly levelled through Davide Moscardelli, who pounced when Alessandro Diamanti's free kick came back off the woodwork.

Early in the second half a wonderful strike from Panagiotis Kone saw Bologna surge 2-1 ahead as he turned in mid-air before guiding an acrobatic volley into the corner.

Gabbaidini then did his best to upstage Kone with a fine equaliser, scoring against his former club from distance with a set piece to ensure that Samp earn their first point of the campaign.
