Chelsea are said to be considering a move for Blackburn Rovers full-back Martin Olsson, who they see as the long-term replacement for Ashley Cole.

Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign Blackburn Rovers left-back Martin Olsson.

The 23-year-old is likely to leave Ewood Park following the club's relegation to the Championship.

Stoke City had been linked with a bid for the player, but the Potters are said to have baulked at an £8m asking price.

That fee is not expected to discourage Chelsea, who have identified the Swede as the long-term replacement for Ashley Cole, according to The Mirror.

Olsson has 12 months remaining on his current contract.
